You drag it — there is nothing to type. Once the file has uploaded, every page appears as a numbered thumbnail. Pick a page up and drop it where you want it; the pages it displaces slide along to fill the gap. To leave a page out of the finished document, click the ✕ in the corner of its thumbnail and it disappears from the grid. The grid is the specification: whatever order it shows when you press Organize is the order the output PDF is built in. If you need pages from another document mixed in, use the ＋ tile at the end of the grid to add a second PDF, and its pages join the same sequence.

Yes, and it is the job this tool is best at. A single-sided feeder run twice gives you 1,3,5,7 then 2,4,6,8 in one file. In the thumbnail grid, drag the first even page up so it sits behind page 1, then the next, and so on — for an eight-page document you are building 1,5,2,6,3,7,4,8, and you can see it forming rather than having to hold it in your head. Work from the front and check each pair as you go. The second batch is often reversed as well, because the stack gets turned over; the thumbnails will show you that immediately, which a typed sequence would not.

Its ✕ was clicked, and the tool did exactly what the grid said. Removing a thumbnail takes that page out of the finished document — it is not hidden or moved to the end, it is simply not included. The grid is the complete specification, so a ten-page file showing nine thumbnails produces a nine-page result. Nothing is lost from your original: the upload is read, never written to, so re-uploading it brings the page straight back. Count the thumbnails against the page count before pressing Organize.

Often, yes. If you are only appending one document to the end of another, Merge PDF does it without you arranging anything. If you only want a few pages gone and the rest left in their existing order, Remove Pages is a few taps rather than a full arrangement. Reach for reorganising when pages genuinely need to move relative to each other, which merging and removing cannot express.

No. The document is reassembled by rebuilding the list that says which page comes next, and each page object is carried across whole — its text, its images, its fonts and its annotations move together as one unit. Nothing is rasterised or re-encoded, so a reordered file is as sharp as the original and lands at close to the same size. The practical caveat is the same as elsewhere: bookmarks still point at the pages they always did, so a contents list may need revisiting once the order has changed.
